FAQ


The following information is provided to make your attendance at the Victorian Homelessness Conference as enjoyable as possible. If you require assistance during the conference, please visit the registration desk and our Conference team will do everything we can to help you.

Conference dates & venue

Thursday 27 November 2025: Conference Day 1
Friday 28 November 2025: Conference Day 2 Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre, Ballarat

Registration desk

The Registration desk is located near the entrance to the main plenary room called ‘Convention Centre’.

The friendly staff will be on hand during the opening hours indicated below to answer your questions and provide information about the conference.

Registration Desk open hours:
Thurs 27 November: 9:30am – 6pm
Fri 28 November: 8:30am – 4pm

Name badges

On arrival at the conference you will be able to print your name badge at the Registration kiosks during the times listed above, using your QR code that will be emailed to you prior to your arrival onsite. This badge will be your official pass and must be worn to gain entry to all sessions, the exhibition area, morning and afternoon tea, lunch and the social function included with your registration.

If you would like your name badge to display a different name from the one on your registration profile, we can arrange this. Please email chp@thinkbusinessevents.com.au as soon as possible with your request.

Wi-fi details

Wi-fi details will be published closer to the Conference dates.

On Demand registrations

Delegates who are unable to attend in person can register for On-demand access. Please note this option does not include live streaming of sessions. On Demand access is also automatically available to in-person attendees. Presentations delivered in the main plenary room will be recorded and made available on the Virtual Attendee Hub following the conference.

Access instructions and login details will be provided to all registered delegates one week after the event. The recordings will be made available up to Friday, 27 Feb 2026.

Dietary requirements

All catering breaks including lunch, morning and afternoon teas will be served. If you have indicated a special dietary need, please go to the special dietary catering table or speak to a venue staff member to collect your meal. If you have not already done so, please advise the conference organisers of any dietary requirements.

To ensure your requests can be met, please email your dietary requests upon registration, or email the conference office at least one week before the start of the conference.

Accessibility requirements

If you have special accessibility needs, please inform the organisers as soon as possible.

Hidden disabilities

If you are attending the VHC 2025 and require additional support, please don’t hesitate to see our friendly staff at the Registration desk.

If you would like to receive a green lanyard to identify yourself as someone with an invisible disability, please see staff at the registration desk upon arrival.

Where: Mercure Ballarat, Exhibition Foyer
nb: This is a non-alcoholic event.

Sustainability

The Victorian Homelessness Conference is prioritising sustainability to reduce the impact on the environment and promote human health and wellbeing.

We are doing this by:

eliminating plastic pockets for conference badges

providing environmentally sustainable bamboo lanyards

printing on recycled paper

Insurance

Insurance of any kind is not included in registration fees. It is advised that delegates take out appropriate health and travel insurances prior. Council to Homeless Persons and the Conference Office do not take any responsibility for delegates failing to insure.

Phishing scams

Please be aware of phishing scams and do not provide personal information such as credit card details to an organisation you do not recognise.

If you receive an email or phone call about the conference that appears suspicious, we would appreciate if you could let us know by emailing chp@thinkbusinessevents.com.au.

If you have any concerns around your data or the conference in general, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Photography

Images taken by organisers may be used by CHP and Think Business Events for marketing.

If you do not want your image used, inform staff at registration to receive a different coloured lanyard so photographers can identify you.
