About
Youth Homelessness Matters Day 2026
Wednesday 15 April, 9-11am
Register to attend here.
This Youth Homelessness Matters Day (YHMD), young people are taking the mic.
Join Council to Homeless Persons and Melbourne City Mission (MCM) on Wednesday 15 April for a very special Youth Homelessness Matters Day forum, which puts youth homelessness action firmly on the agenda ahead of this year’s Victorian state election.
Young people with lived experience of homelessness will sit down with Victoria’s Minister for Housing and Building and Shadow Minister for Housing and Building to put forward their questions and ideas, and ask for a better future for the next generation of young Victorians.
We’re also launching the April edition of Parity magazine, which features a compendium of timely discussions on what Victoria can do right now to better address youth homelessness. Pick up your copy of the mag on the day.
Come along to hear:
– Young lived experience advocates in conversation with the Hon Harriet Shing, Victoria’s Minister for Housing and Building, and David Southwick, Shadow Minister for Housing and Building.
– Presentations from contributors to the latest edition of Parity magazine.
– Essential perspectives from frontline workers, young people with lived experience of homelessness and leaders within the homelessness sector.
Join us at MCM (164-180 Kings Way, South Melbourne) from 9am. RSVP now to reserve your free spot!
