Council to Homeless Persons is the peak body representing organisations and individuals in Victoria with a commitment to ending homelessness

What we do

Our vision is to end homelessness in Victoria. We work towards this goal through leadership in policy and advocacy, building the capacity of Victoria’s homelessness sector, and working in partnership with people who are or who have been without a home.

Our services

Homelessness Advocacy Service

Offering advice and information for people seeking or receiving assistance from any Victorian community-managed homelessness assistance or social housing service.

Peer Education Support Program

A volunteer program that provides people who are or have been without a home the opportunity to improve Victoria’s homelessness service system.

Policy and advocacy

Providing leadership on preventing and ending homelessness through campaigning and by developing, supporting and promoting evidence-based policy and practice.

Sector development and learning

Building the capacity of Victoria’s Specialist Homelessness Sector through live training sessions, self-directed eLearning courses, blended learning, and online resources.

Parity magazine

Our national publication examining homelessness from personal, local, social and global perspectives, with ten editions per year.

Who we are

We bring together driven individuals who are passionate about ending homelessness in Victoria. Our team is from a diverse range of backgrounds, skillsets, and experience to help achieve the Council to Homeless Persons vision.

We are governed and managed by an elected board of directors, whose key role is to develop and monitor Council to Homeless Person’s culture, strategy, and risk management approach.
