Response to the Health and Wellbeing Act (Prescribed Accommodation) Regulatory Impact Statement (Rooming house minimum standards)

While CHP welcomes the opportunity to respond to the Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) for the public Health and Wellbeing (Prescribed Accommodation) Regulations 2020, we are concerned with that the regulations in the RIS were developed without consultation with either CHP, or other key tenant advocates.

This submission focuses on rooming houses and poor stakeholder engagement has resulted in a RIS that reflects only poor outcomes for consumers of rooming houses.
